Kabi Nazrul Mahavidyalaya, Sonamura (Formerly Government Degree College, Sonamura) is one of the oldest College of Tripura. It is located on a tranquil and lushly green campus was established on 12.08. 1988 and is about 2 km away from Sonamura, the subdivisional headquarter and is about 65 km away from the state capital Agartala. The College is affiliated to Tripura University and is administered by Education (Higher) Department, Government of Tripura. It got provisional affiliation in the year 1998 and permanent affiliation on 13/05/2004. It is also recognized by UGC under 12(f) & 12(b) of the UGC Act, 1956 since 16/01/2007. Various courses on Science & Arts are taught in this college.
